Has someone in this group some in depth knowledge to share? The 86 old owner of the unit really loves his TT 550 and now puts all his hopes into me. So this will be a lot of trial and error. Unfortunately there is no service manual for the unit, except a moderate scan of the schematics. Not on the PA and not on the coax from the RF board to the PA. But switching to TX does not give any signal. I can switch modes and if I select AM and rise the volume to 2/3rds I also have some noise on the speaker. The unit does communicate to my computer, lacking any windows I use Linux with FLRig as control software. And I do that for testing my own skills again and again :) So today on the bench a Pegasus 550 that has underwent some reals ugly repair trials including shorts on the RS232 converter and a really burnt PCB around the Serial to parallel shift register on the RF unit.
